With over 3,000 hours of sunshine annually (on average), Barbados is, indeed, a dreamy destination where the weather is an undeniable ally. The fact that Barbados also sits outside the Caribbean hurricane belt is an added plus for travellers wanting to spend their time enjoying the sugary shores and azure waters without living with the fear of a rain shower ruining their beach time. And, as if all these were not enough, the steady and predictable temperatures make Barbados an even more appealing place to visit during the summer, winter, and spring. Below is some information about the Barbados weather that will probably come in handy.

The last spring breakers leave the island in April, and March is the month with the lowest humidity. A raincoat and a light scarf might be useful, though, in case of passing showers. The average temperatures range between 23oC (74oF) and 31oC (87oF).

Summer – The trade winds help keep the high temperatures (between 25oC and 31oC or 77oF and 88oF) consistent in Barbados throughout the year. June initiates the rainy season which spikes in August. Nevertheless, the rain showers are short-lasting and are much less frequent and intense than during fall season. This means that the summertime pampers sun worshipers with plenty of sunny days. When packing your things, do add a rain jacket and breathable clothing to help your body fight humidity.

July through November – During this period, the rain showers are as intense, heavy, and frequent as they can be (though nothing too intimidating or worrisome to spoil your vacations as they are quite brief). And, it is safe to assume that you will be getting plenty of sunshine for your Barbados endeavours. Take a moment and look around. The vegetation is becoming greener and richer and the beautiful tropical flowers are getting into full bloom. Let’s not forget, though, that it is hurricane season. So, you may encounter some tropical storms, even if the risk is quite small.

December – The land is becoming more verdant and greener by the day, distinguished by the most colourful vegetation. The month is the driest of the year, which is why it is preferred by thousands of travellers, who choose the festive Christmas season to visit the country. Given its huge popularity, though, some bookings are made way too far in advance (perhaps even 12 months prior to the travellers’ arrival!).
