Visa to Antigua and Barbuda

  • You can apply for an Antigua and Barbuda visa (if you are required to) either online or by visiting the nearest Antigua and Barbuda embassy in your country of origin.
  • The Antigua and Barbuda visa is valid for up to 90 days. This applies to short-term permits. However the actual validity depends on the type of visa you are applying for.
  • You can extend your Antigua and Barbuda visa for up to 90 days.
  • Electronic Entry Visa holders can enter the country unlimited times within a period of six months (180 days).
  • On a single entry, holders of an Electronic Entry Visa can stay in the country for up to three months.
  • More than 90 countries are eligible to visit the country for tourist purposes only with an Electronic Entry Visa (meaning, without having to head to an Antigua and Barbuda embassy to apply for a visa).
  • Citizens of over 30 countries are required to get an Antigua and Barbuda visa per the Antigua and Barbuda tourist visa policies. This applies to visitors coming to the country for tourism.
  • Some nationals can enter Antigua and Barbuda with a passport, as long as they are visiting the country for a short period.
  • A valid passport, as well as a return or onward ticket are prerequisites for all visitors to Antigua and Barbuda to enter the country.

Most citizens of a European Union member state do NOT require an Antigua and Barbuda visa to enter the country for business or holiday.

All nationals NOT requiring a visa to visit Antigua and Barbuda need to meet the following requirements in order to stay as long as their business takes:

  • Their stay does not exceed 180 days.
  • They have a return or onward ticket.
  • They have a passport that is valid for at least 180 days from their arrival date.
  • They have proof of stay (i.e., their hotel booking confirmation).
  • They can produce proof that they can cover all costs related to their stay in Antigua and Barbuda for the duration of their visit.

For some countries, access to Antigua and Barbuda can be done via a visa-on-arrival. Here are these countries (the information provided herein is valid at the time of this writing; however, always check with your travel agent for the updated information).

Visa-on-arrival for 30 days: Bangladesh, Benin, Cambodia, Egypt, Laos, Macau, Maldives, Mauritania, Mozambique, Nepal, Palau, Rwanda, Solomon Islands, Somalia, and Timor-Leste, Jordan, Lebanon, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Tuvalu.

Visa-on-arrival for 60 days: Samoa

Visa-on-arrival for 90 days: Bolivia, Djibouti, Guinea-Bissau, Madagascar, Seychelles.

Visa-on-arrival for 120 days: Armenia

Also, Comoros (45 days), Iran (15 days), and Togo (7 days).

Citizens of the following countries are not required to have an Antigua and Barbuda visa to enter the nation:

Also visa-exempt are cruise ship visitors, as long as they do not stay in Antigua and Barbuda overnight (they arrive in the morning and leave the country the same evening). In addition, Andorra, Vatican City, the US, and Schengen nations do NOT need a visa to enter Antigua and Barbuda.

To apply for an Antigua and Barbuda visa, you will need to share the following:

  • A valid passport for at least 6 months from the date of your departure.
  • Two coloured passport-sized photos.
  • Travel confirmation (your airplane ticket)
  • A completed visa application form.
  • Visa fees*

* $50 for a single-entry permit (if visiting Antigua and Barbuda within 90 days of issue date) or $75 for a multiple-entry visa (if visiting Antigua and Barbuda within 180 days of issue date).

So, once you have gathered all the needed documents, you click on the Apply Now button on the website mentioned above, fill out the form with the correct required details, upload all supporting documents (plus your photo), pay your visa fee via debit or credit card, and wait for your application to be processed, while you will also receive a confirmation email regarding your payment and visa application. As soon as your application is approved, you will receive an email with your Electronic Entry Visa (EEV) travel letter that you can print (this will be solely for your own record-keeping; the Antigua and Barbuda Immigration officers do not accept EEV copies, only the originals).

You can visit the country with your loyal companion only if it has a duly issued import licence. Your pet should also be accompanied by a government-issued Health Certificate (official document) that is no older than 7 days, stating that your dog or cat is free from the symptoms of communicable diseases and in good health.
